See my post earlier in this thread. Last I heard the Netflix developers had made later versions incompatible with android boxes. Some people had found success loading older versions but this is not guaranteed.
Certainly you should see an ethernet connection option in settings - that is pretty standard. That said, I know some android boxes (e.g. some UGOOS supplied boxes) support wifi only by design.
I would certainly try another ethernet cable. If no luck try switching the modem off and on. Can you...
I have already replied to your other thread regarding the t8s plus v2 processor.
Good luck getting someone to run the tests for you since you seem to mistrust all independent testing.
I am not going to argue with you anymore.
The comparison table you have copied is clearly in error.
For the avoidance of doubt the t8s plus v2 has an amlogic s905 processor clocked at 2.0ghz.
Here is an extract from the originsl spec sheet.
Technical details
Processor: 2.0 GHz Quad Core Cortex...
Can you provide more information on what you have updated? For example have you updated a Droidbox supplied Q7 with a Droidbox firmware update (there hasn't been a new firmware for some time)?
There are plenty of independent performance reviews of both machines out there and they can be found on google in seconds.
The t8s plus v2 runs the amlogic s905 processor not the s905x. I believe the processor is clocked at 2.0ghz not 1.5ghz.
The boxes you have seen are likely running the S905X processor or variant rather than the base S905 processor.
As far as I am aware - and I have researched this - the freaktabs site has lots of information - it is not possible.
I have not seen any droidbox controller that supports both IR and Wireless. Have you seen one somewhere? If so, you'll need to ask the supplier. I didn't think it was possible.
CEC is a protocol whereby using hdmi you can connect devices and use one remote to do certain controls. As an example...
Another user on the forum @Jim A was reporting failures at 50% (this was on 3 august). I told him to keep trying. He hasn't come back so i assume he eventually got the download.
Droidbox - @Dave C - can advise if there are any known problems with the server.
The adverts for both Droidbox and other suppliers mouses (mice?) claim they are compatible with smart tvs and pcs, but you will need to put the receiver dongle in one of those devices.
Technically, if you could find a compatible ROM then you could load a librelec only os. But there is a risk of bricking the machine.
But the real question is why?
If you boot into librelec then you are not invoking/using android at all.
You could download librelec direct from their distro but...
Hi
1. I have never heard of voice control on a remote so have no idea how well it works.
On the basis that I do not use vc on the devices I have that do support it I would be highly unlikely to use it on an android box.
2. Terrarium TV is an android app that shows movies and TV shows. There...
As DaveC suggests, all those machines will do want you want (basic streaming).
Higher spec machines = more responsive interface.
To me, the most important buying decision would be around support and build quality. Put simply, no name Chinese outfits vs reputable suppliers.
If you want to know...
Given it is a new box and you have done the usual solutions - a reset - with no effect, I would contact Droidbox direct rather than via the forum. Contact button at foot of forum page.
