If you bought it from Droix contact their customers services (i think details are on the main Droix page). Have you purchase/order details handy. They can help diagnose and resolve.

Have you tried to contact other devices to the hotspot? For example a PC, tablet or even your daughters phone. I would test those as well especially the latter.

Stock launchers are usually built into the firmware and as far as I know are not portable objects. My preference has always been to move away from stock launchers and use those available in the free Nova launcher app (from Google play store) with the wallpaper of my choice.

Note my comment about certsin apps (e.g. disney) not running on android set top boxes by design. So getting a new box might not be the solution you are looking for.

T8S plus is an old box and the last firmware update was several years so it might already be as up to date as it can be. Certainly nothing later than android 6 will run on the processor. But you should be able to run most stuff on the google play store though and apply updates. Kodi 18 runs ok...

Some Wifi extenders detect your routers wifi signal and boost it in the room of your choice. Others use the house ring main as a hard wired network.

I would certainly recommend using a wifi extender as a general rule for devices in a separate room. And using the ethernet port on the extender to reduce further signal loss.

Are you connected by wifi or ethernet? If wifi maybe go into settings and reset the connection like you might do on your phone i.e. "forget" the current connection, refresh the wireless connections, reconnect and re-enter the wifi password
