Sometimes things can get corrupted and cause problems, if you still have problems might be worth doing a full reset of kodi.
Like you said might be worth getting kodi 16.1 or try DBMC.
Good luck
Have you tried holding the restore button (by the USB ports) and then pluging the power in the back of the box to see if this kicks it back to life.
If it does just clear cache and reboot..
Good luck
Do a speed test on your box, it shouldn't take that long...
Also try clearing cache and packages in maintenance in areswizard to, this should help a little.
Try going into areswizard and then tweeks and set up an XML. Just follow the instructions in Advanced setting wizard.
See if this helps you, if not you can delete the XML setting by using the Xunity maintenance and tweeks then delete Advanced XML.
Also have a play with the Acceleration setting...
Here a link on how to install Areswizard.

DBMC is a version of kodi and some people use a wizard to install there add-ons as it saves time.
So it all depends on what you want, if you are happy with what you've got then don't worry. Using a wizard like Areswizard also can keep these add-ons up to date.
Check the threads on this forum on...
When shutting down DBMC or kodi can take a few minutes as it's clearing junk files and closing down properly.
Time can very and depends on if you use a wizard to put a build on....
Hi, are you existing kodi properly using the power off or shut down button on your build.
Also after you run the wizard does it shut down after its run, as this is it storing the build. If it doesn't then try that as well...good luck
