Hi. I have the X96 Max 4gb/64gb with the official OTA update applied. Everything works fine but I have never been able to update the original version of the Play Store. I get the message that it will update but it never does and I have downloaded the apk and side loaded but it says that the update was not installed. I have managed to update Google Play Services. Has anyone else had this issue?

Unfortunately, can't confirm if its the cause, but it seems the direct android updates for play store won't be supported on customer ROM installed Android TV Box and as long as Google Play Services is updated, it should work fine for you. Let's see if anyone else is experiencing the same though.

Hi I've got the H96 mini and just spent 5 hours trying to update Google Play Store . Tried everything including clearing caches , downloading apks etc . Nothing and it's got me totally beaten .

Just to confirm, Are you trying to update Google Play Store app or the Google Play service?
