All the Boxes comes with some preloaded Applications including Kodi and then you just need to install Wizards like Wookie on Kodi and that will allow you to watch all media content.
You can follow the video that Angela advised you for installing Wookie on Kodi.
It depends on the Add-on what quality of Streams they are providing, if they are providing the low quality streams then yes you can watch that but you can't change the particular stream quality.
Factory reset will not wipe the pre existing settings on the device but it will wipe all the data and other manually installed Applications from the device and then device will be back to normal position.
