There are no firmware updates for the iMXQpro v1. You can update any apps via the Google Play Store, if you are not familiar with the process you can follow the guide at https://droidbox.co.uk/how-to/first-run-of-googles-play-store/

By default the keyboard is setup to be used on US keyboard layout so a few keys are swapped around. There is no update etc to get around this so you would need to edit the registry to change what you want them to be.

Are you copying them to the internal storage? Did you press START after switching between versions (Right trigger)? I tried this earlier and it worked fine. I have not had a chance to see if the external card method works or not.
