Sorry on the b52 a quick press of the alt key then the @ icon normally does it. You have to be quick, then I think the Fn key does numbers and other stuff the same colour.
I'd go for storage myself (T8-S plus)...again both are good. I like the feel of the droidbox b52..only thing not sure if it's programmable. Where my old VIP can, both have good Qwerty key boards on the reverse.
Oh VIP needs batteries and the other is USB charged.
Another coin toss here I feel.
Hi, the T8 mini is a good box with due boot with Openelec. It also has HDMI 2.0 (min need for pure 4k) which you need for 4k viewing. Only thing you need a very fast broadband speed and then the content, there's not much. Yes the T8-S plus can do the same not sure if it's going to be up scaled...
You will need to get in touch with droidbox directly as this is a user forum.
Might not get a reply from them for a few days...I'm just going on what's been said in the past. The T8-S comes with the updater built in so no need to flash it.
The link where you updated from says T8, sorry for the...
The firmware for the T8-S isnt available, and the only way to get it done is to send your box back to droidbox.
You can get in touch with support by email or live chat on the droidbox main site.
Normally you update the T8-S using the OTA updater.
Hope this helps.
Normally when you start up it updates and starts to download. Then you just click away when prompted.
If you go in the top left corner and click on the 3 lines (setting) and the click on about. You should be running 2.0.4 if you are you are up to date.
If not go to setting and apps and uninstall...
I've heard of Libreelec, but openelec is still going strong and the next version is on it final testing before a general release.
Here's a link with comparison on both...
Nigelar on the performance of the T8-S I've had one for over a year and I suppose it depends if you have loads of apps running in the background on the android side and don't close them down. But it's only a small difference, but I prefer the openelec side try it on yours see if its better.
Hi sorry to here, most add-ons still work. I don't have a problem with Openelec, and it might be down to the wizard you are using. Most use wookie lite in Openelec.
Plus you can add your own.
Openelec is a version of kodi based on a Linux biuld of kodi. It's very basic and has no background apps...
Check out droidboxs bargin corner it has T8 and T8-S both 8 and 16 GB. All been refurbished and good to go.
https://droidbox.co.uk/bargain-corner.html
I'd go with the 16 GB loads of storage.
When you turn your box on, on the 1st menu go to the two cogs (setting) and then Advanced near the bottom it says about DTS HD.
Inside kodi it's set to 2.0 because then your decoder inside your amp converts it to the relevant surround sound.
Sorry at this moment no pics or screen shots.
Good luck
I dont use this format on kodi as you need a fast broadband speed. I've have tried and does work...on the T8-S go out of kodi and at the main boot menu go setting and then Advanced. Here you can scroll down and turn on DTS HD.
Inside kodi go to system and system again, then Audio output. Make...
Try playing sometimes then press the OK button. The bottom sub menu should pop up, now go to the speaker icon and at the top you can adjust the sound level and underneath the loudness.
Make sure you save setting at the bottom, should say set as default.
Hope this helps
