In case people don't have an option to add a VPN connection in openELEC, you'll want to update openELEC first. See https://droidbox.co.uk/blog/t8-s-ota-update-for-openelec/ for details. Regarding which VPN services are confirmed as working in openELEC, I'll leave someone with experience to hopefully reply to @dav134

Well datho vpn worked up until the 3 day refund policy was up and has now stopped connecting to the servers. Up until now they havent been much help for troubleshooting the issue
