Not unless there is a 100% compatible image to flash, S812 and TWRP would be the key terms to search with.

PLEASE NOTE FLASHING non-DROIDBOX FIRMWARES WILL INVALIDATE YOUR WARRANTY

http://freaktab.com/forum/tv-player-support/amlogic-based-tv-players/16228-twrp-for-amlogic-devices would be a good place to ask probably. They might want to know S812, Android 5, 32Gb ROM, 2Gb RAM

I'm not sure if attempting to flash any sort of TWRP image could effect booting into OpenELEC, and if things go wrong, you may be charged to have it repaired in our office.

you don't need to flash TWRP over stock recovery. You can boot TWRP from sd card then select backup to get a TWRP backup onto removable usb drive, etc. Just done this with a newly flashed MXQ pro v2 after removing as much bloatware as I could from the stock rom, installed my own launcher and apps then backed it all up.

Use at your own risk but works fine for me.

TWRP 3.0.2.0.

Fair enough, if it works and doesn't touch the NAND without you wanting it to. As always, if you care about your warranty and don't want to buy a new one, I'd still wait until the warranty expires. Less heartache :)
Just finished replying to you elsewhere @Bar , thanks for coming back to this thread and giving us the info
