I've got both and value them equally as they both offer different capabilities (both will run Kodi). So it depends on what you want it for.

As this is the Droidbox forum @BANDIT , it is no surprise that we are going to recommend boxes supplied by them.
No Droidboxes are sold "fully loaded".

The T8 mini is also highly recommended @djfatboyrob - it does not have the capability to add an internal HDD but if that is not an issue, it probably features the most up to date processor in the range (amlogic s905).

Hi, The T8-S Plus is now V2 with the S812 chipset replaced with S905X and a HDMI 2.0a port and Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) on the website.

I can only speak for myself but I own a T8 Mini and yes the chip is probably the best one for my needs and future proof - amlogic s905. So I can only say good things about this little beauty.

Brilliant replies. Cheers folks. I'm an experienced user of a T8. So i think the T8-S Plus is the way to go.

I'll be using it primarily for streaming audio and video, however I'll also be looking to download for off-line entertainment. How simple is this as its a bit hit and miss with my T8??

You will be using the same Addons so little difference. If you add a hard disk you have the advantage of loads of storage. Some tweaks might be needed to access the hdd - some of the folks here can advise on that.

Also. I'm guessing that it would make sense that whatever i go with it'll need to be Kodi v17 capable?

Yes. All the newer Droidboxes come with android 5 or 6 which is the minimum requirement for Kodi 17.

I've just upgraded from my T8-S to the V2 T8-S Plus.

I'm gladly shocked how faster it is with this new processor, and now comes installed with Android 6 Marshmallow.

From someone who has had both, definitely go for this or the new TV Mini.
