Have you googled "team viewer for android"? A quick email to their support line should help answer your question.

No. I didn't misread your question. According to the team viewer FAQ team viewer allows:

"Cross-platform PC to PC, mobile to PC, PC to mobile, and even mobile to mobile connections that support Windows, macOS, Linux, Chrome OS, iOS, Android, Windows Universal Platform, and BlackBerry."

Which suggests a PC may not be needed. Which is why I suggested you contact them. I doubt Droidboxes are formally supported though (same would apply to any remote access app in my opinion).

A quick Google also gave me this list which you may want to read in case it answers your question. Note, team viewer is mentioned again.

Quickstart (from Team Viewer) is one half of the equation, Team Viewer (the program/app) the other.

Quick Support (in case you ever want to remote control an Android device that doesn't have it already) https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.teamviewer.quicksupport.market
Team Viewer https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.teamviewer.teamviewer.market.mobile
Team Viewer Host (not used, different to Quick Support) https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.teamviewer.host.market

I think you can with QuickSupport, if you first disable all hardware acceleration temporarily in Kodi/DBMC/SPMC/etc*. Don't think a restart of Kodi was required, might need to stop and start video. At this point, you're then looking at whether the device has enough upload bandwidth and processing power to render the video locally and push the content to you with enough quality.
* OK, entirely possible you may not need everything turned off if you're just testing with one media stream, but it works at least.

You might also find it worth looking into Remote Desktop and VNC type setups, in terms of when everything is on your local network instead of involving the internet, when playing media. Whether the device has enough upload bandwidth and processing power to render the video locally and push the content to you with enough quality on each set up, some systems you can configure to go for smooth changes or sharper definition.
