SPDIF issues...

I cant for the life of me get this to output an audio signal.

Visible light through the cable.

Digital sound set to spdif on both t8 and a/v receiver.

HDMI audio seems fine.

Anyone have any tips on how to get this to work?

Give me more information please. What stereo system. TV, can you switch between stereo and the tv to see if it works?

Is there another tv etc to try it on again to see if it works?

How old is it? The warranty gone, most of the sources addons etc don't support full spdif hdmi pass gives just as good of audio.

I have hypersensitivity hearing smell etc I can hear the lights hum it's annoying! I have trouble telling the difference between the hdmi pass and the spdif I wish everything was pure digital dolby or dts sound but most of the time it's up converted from 2.0 channel's to 5.1 or 7.1 depending on the way you set it up.

Then after that it uses hdmi pass or spdif so it's kinda crappy already but music and the digital sources when you can find them are awesome on spdif but again hdmi pass I loved for well over a year

A/V receiver: sony dn850
TV: Panasonic 55" st50

I have had the t8 for less than a week and updated to android 6 a few days ago.

It seems to loose sound in the android OS as soon as i switch to spdif in 'digital sounds' settings.

I tried switching audio to tv but that didnt work.

Unfortunately, dont have another setup to try it on but my ps4 via optical seems to work fine.

Thanks. These are the instructions i followed to set it all up. Don't think there i anything these that will assist with the issue though.

Will do. Support have been great resolving other issues so i am sure they will sort this. At least i have asked here first to rule out any common issues with spdif connectivity.
