I have set the auto screen resolution to off and manually set the resolution to all 4K resolutions at different times, and it always reverts to 1080p. I have a Samsung 9000 series 55" TV that handles 4K from other sources e.g. BT UHD Box and Xbox one S. Any ideas how to keep the setting at 4K.

Hi

Can you please be more precise when it comes to resolution falling back to 1080p.does your TV fallback resolution or your box?

As i can see that you use multiple devices,it may be that your TV set put the resolution to your devices and scale automatically to those.

In this case you would need to edit TV settings and set it to largest P resolution, largest I can make the problems with external devices as technology behind it is not the same as P.(1080p and 1080i for example,it is not the same).

Please visit official TV support to find out more.

Could please stop spouting garbage? The issue is with the box as all other devices deliver 4K or the TV upscales to 4K and so does my receiver. The receiver indicates the source is 4K only if I reset it to that but the box reverts back to 1080p if it is switched off. I wish I knew half of what you think you know.

Eddyad has posted in the t8s plus section of the forum, and is a regular droidbox forum poster. It is clear that the box he is referring to is a t8s plus and he does not mention any other android box in first message.

Thank you Nigelar, for spotting immediately I had posted in the t8s plus forum. If I set the video resolution on the box to any of the 4K settings with the auto resolution to off, it is fine until I shut the box off. When I restart the box it reverts to 1080p 60hz. Brilliant box, small problem, just a little annoying resetting the resolution every time I reboot, but no big deal. I just did not like the attitude of the administrator when he clearly had all the information he needed.

Hi,sorry for the misunderstanding .

Can you please try to switch from Android to the OpenELEC and see if it would display the same results?
On the android side, could you please go to preference settings and under hdmi cec try to turn it OFF and see if that changes the result.

If you maybe have some other TV/monitor it would be nice if you could try to replicate the problem and see if the behavior of the box remains the same.

I have tried all of the above and if I set the resolution to 4K, with auto resolution off, all video is upscaled to 4K and the input indicates this on my 4K receiver. If I power down and restart it reverts to 1080p every time.

Yes, I can confirm that CEC was turned off. I will continue to reset the resolution to 4K each time I need it.
