Remote control issue X96 Mini

Today my remote has decide not to fully work for my 3 month old X96 Mini, the volume buttons intermittently work and the standby button occasionally works. I have tried brand new batteries in the remote, and have managed to complete a factory reset by plugging in a mouse to a USB port but still the same problem, the OS 7.1.2, has anyone else had this problem and is there a fix available?

It might be that the remote itself has just died.
Generally with the cheaper Android boxes the Infrared remotes aren't always of a high quality, and might just fail after a while. Which is why we always suggest you buy a separate air mouse or keyboard.
