Check the openelec community web page. They are responsible for adding kodi to openelec. I believe there are beta versions but would not risk that until proven on droidboxes.
It will probably be via a firmware or ota update as you will need a new version of the openelec os containing 16. So wait for an announcement from droidbox. Unless you fancy downloading a firmware from some other source with the risks that entails.
Yet there is no official release for DroidBox OpenElec Kodi to Jarvis. There might be beta versions available however we are not responsible if it breaks anything.
Once openELEC has a stable public release using Kodi 16, there will be an official version from us for our boxes. Right now, the Kodi 16 based versions are Release Candidates, not final release.
SilentlyScreaming, is there any plans to rollout Openelec 6.0.3 as an OTA update? Still on 6.0.0 so ought to be worth installing the maintenance updates?
Best to ask openELEC themselves. Once they have a stable 7.0 release, we'll be able to get started on a build.
http://openelec.tv/get-openelec shows it as Beta still.
If you ask the admins there, I'd not worry about mentioning it is an Android box, as they don't directly support that side of things.
