On/off button on the VIP keyboard not working

Hello,
Received the M8 with Smart TV Box remote and VIP mini remote from Amazon.
The box is great but you have to use the two remotes when using the box.
Only the smart TV remote will turn the product on then you have to switch to the VIP remote then to turn it off properly switch back.

Frustrating problem to have TBH.

When turning the box off with the VIP the screen on the TV goes black but the Box LED stays blue indicating the box is on.

I bought the second remote just for ease of use but its defeating the object when you have to use two remotes.

Any solutions so help would be appreciated.

I have just tried it as per Dave's link to get my VIP to learn to turn my T8s on and off from the remote that came with it. And it work very well.

Fixed mine last night, can turn it off and in now....been putting of doing it for a few weeks. Sorted now

What I find very interesting is that my two sons got exactly the same remotes (well, they look the same and the one came with the units do turn it off) but no amount of trying will make the VIPs work. The only difference is that they are both on Droidsticks T8. If anyone have ideas, please chip in.

Just been told it didn't work. ah well....

Take batteries out for a couple of days, put back in, try it with the USB dongle in another device whilst training the VIP, or even not plugged in to anything at all at the time.
Also possible to post it back to the office for a check, but if it does learn commands normally, then it would be returned, not sure about P&P costs.
Might be worth trying the training in a different room, making sure there are no energy saving light bulbs turned on at the time (only really seems to happen with VERY old ones) and also trying again with out of a packet fresh Duracell Ultra batteries.
