Are you talking about volume when using android apps e.g. You tube , showbox or in Kodi or anything on the box?

Yes. Everything in android. When I go into kodi the audio output is greyed out and set to android. In openelec it was set to the remote control speaker but it wasn't greyed and allowed me to change it to hdmi. Solved that one easily. Would a reset be the answer

Can you try and open a kodi stream in android. One of the on screen controls is a volume one ( its an icon to the right of the stop ffwd etc). See if that is set to 0 and if you can set it to 11.

Remote control speaker is likely the issue here. If the above doesn't help, try turning off, remove the USB dongle for the remote control with a speaker in it, then turn on the DroidBOX again and check Android audio output is then OK.
