New user, quick question

Hi all,

I've been messing about with my new T8s for a day or two now and I'm really happy with it. I have it booting to Openelec as I don't really need the Android stuff on yet another device in the house.

Quick question. Is the Openelec build a Droidbox specific one? I see that there is a new beta version available and was wondering whether that is available on this box.

All in all I couldn't be happier with this device, finally something that can match my much missed Boxee Box

Hi openelec is developed by the openelec community. As new stable versions are developed they are released for general use. For example a version with kodi 16. It will then need to be tested on droidbox machines to prove compatibility.
Loading an unproven beta version carries a risk that you could mess up your machine so not recommended.
