Hi, new to the forum and would like some advice...
I have purchased a budget box from an online auction site, simply to try the format out, below are the details of the unit I purchased...Its actually very good and performs well except I cannot get it to output a DD5.1 audio signal to my AV Amp. I think I have all the Kodi and Android settings set correctly, So I am wondering wether the Android 5.1 coding is different to that of a BluRay Player, or its the fact that I bought a "cheapo" box.
The Box has a SPDIF output and when playing a film the details at the bottom of the screen claim 5.1 output, but my Amplifier only sees a 2.1 signal.
The Android boc is connected to the amp via the SPDIF connection, but I also have an HDAMI breakout box that can split the audio from the HDMI output, then feed into the amps SPDIF input, but alas both methods are not working.
Any advice would be most welcome, especially recommendations for a better box that definately outputs a dolby 5.1 audio...
