Hello,

I'm new here and new to DroidBox. Long time Pi + OpenElec user though.

Just bought T8-S Plus v2 and would be quite happy with if it wasn't rebooting randomly. Typically 5-6 times a day.

I use it pretty much in vanilla state with Kodi 17.3 (or 17.4 now, testing if this helps). From additional apps I added OpenVPN for Android which i use as a replacement for IPVanish client (this way i can access my local network and internet at the same time - can provide tips if anyone was confused how to do it). I also added File Manager HD, Keymap editor and that's about it.

From the very beginning i noticed it wasn't very stable (got it for 3 days now). First surprise was to check it in the morning just to find black screen and no response on the screen... But since than it does reboot randomly every 1 or 2 hours. I'm usually inside Kodi (that's what this box is for) at the time.

Would you expect faulty hardware or more Kodi's instability? I happens on both 17.3 and 17.4 though.

I also enabled logging and submitted one capturing the reboot. I would be happy to analyse myself if could/knew how.

What would be my next step?...

Thanks for any help!

I think contacting support direct by email, or live chat (on the main droidbox web page) is your best bet. Make sure you have order details handy.

Update: was advised over IM chat on the website to flash the device with the latest (July) build. Apparently it's supposed to fix the issue. Will keep you posted guys, and thanks for all responses.

Update: It seemed to help with random rebooting of the whole box, but Kodi errored twice over 2 days: "Kodi has stoppped" error once, and froze to blank screen too (had to hard reset the box). While this is an improvement, than still nothing like rock solid OpenElec i was running on Pi, which was rock solid stable... Lets see how it goes longer term :)
