New RG280V slowwww

My RG280V (which has the same CPU as a 350) keeps slowing right down in XMame, e.g. Street Fighter 2, R-Type II and even Defender (!). NOTE: I bought it from AliExpress so suspect a low quality memory card is to blame -- or it could be just the XMAME emulator. I'm thinking of putting Emulation Station on it, as it uses different emulators. What's the normal cause for a sudden drop in frame rate (anyone who's actually remedied this problem)? Seems like some kind of buffering issue (i.e. memory / storage to blame), as it starts off fast but quickly slows down.

You may wanna try loading Mame4All on it instead, and see if that works.
A drop in framerate could be due to anything, really. From cheap/low-quality SD cards, to some kind of fault in the hardware, or simply just a poorly optimized emulator/game.
