Are you trying to get it back while in Xbmc because the flick from the bottom of the screen only seems to work while on the boot up launcher screen on mine.

Thanks for your reply Graham, I have tried both swiping in XBMC and the launcher screen .I think it was just after your earlier post suggesting trying swiping upwards from the launcher screen a few weeks ago that I have been trying to get it back, I had OUYA 12.2 on it when I lost it and have just installed SPMC and it is still missing, its has if I have disabled it somehow, I get the feeling its simply not there. Does anybody know if there is a setting to enable disable this feature I presume it would be in system settings but I can't find anything. thanks in advance DOUG

@DOUG COOPER - Can you open the Settings application from the launcher's homescreen please? If it is a colourful interface, head to the DISPLAY tab, and try clicking "Hide status bar" to off.
If Settings leads to an almost monochrome blue/black and white interface, let us know and we'll see if there is an app that can force the status bar back.
One last thought, I've had to use a USB mouse in the past when I didn't have my normal remote control with me... if the above doesn't help, and you have one in the house you can borrow, try left-clicking (hold it down) and swiping up with a mouse instead.

Just a thought and maybe silentlyscreaming can could say if it is not possible, could the display be set too large foforcing the menu bar too low for you to reach and if so reduce the display to a smaller size to compensate.

Hi SS the screen when I click on the launcher home screen settings is as you describe as monochrome blue/black and white, can't find the hide status bar option in the DISPLAY tab I also looked in settings in spmc for hiding the status bar with no luck , I have used a USB remote and CABLED mouse many times without success. It looks like the app idea is the only way to go and will wait for your suggestions thank you. I have done a factory reset and changed from OUYA TO SPMC TO GET IT BACK but failed. Thank you for your help .DOUG

OK, first let's check that your TV isn't set to something like 14:9 ratio, where you'd clip a small amount of the display. If you're not 100% certain how to check/alter this on your TV, try temporarily plugging your device into a different TV.

If that doesn't help, try these two apps: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mrbimc.udn.lite&hl=en and http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1330150 (bottom of first post for the APK, see http://www.droid-life.com/2013/01/23/lmt-launcher-brings-pie-goodness-without-the-custom-rom/ for a video of it in action). I would uninstall one app before trying the other.

Finally, if none of that helps, I'm a little mystified by a factory reset not helping you out previously. If you tried it via Android's Settings menu, follow this - https://droidbox.co.uk/blog/how-to-access-your-droidboxs-recovery-menu/ - instead.

Hi Silently Screaming, I have tried both methods of factory resets in settings and holding the reset button underneathand they didn't bring the bar back. Both tv sets I tried it on were set to 16.9
So I downloaded the app called HIDE BAR which has a line and two arrows above it
pointing down as I wasnt sure which one you were recomending but it was on that page you sent me and I set it to OFF and and clicked on the bottom of the screen and four icons came up one of which was a line with an arrow pointing upwards clicked on that and EUREKA THE BAR RETURNED.thank you thank you thank you,I am now a very happy man.
