How do you get out of LibreElec back into Android.. I want to install a build on LibreElec and keep my Android side with a selection of addons

On the exit (power) button there is a return to android option.
If you install a build, you may have to return to the confluence skin to use that option as builds will probably not support a native return to android option in their menu system.

In Programs, LibreElec configuration, System, scroll down to switch system, reboot to Android. No need to switch skins etc.

Is the configuration in programs shown in the build.? also does having a build on the LibreElec side affect the running of android..?

If the L E config is not in programs thats what nigelar meant by changing back to the confluence skin to access that option as some builds do not support L E. Having a build on L E does not affect Android side whatsoever as they are two seperate operating systems. Good luck.

Yes, Surely all builds give access to programs running in LibreElec, including LibreElec configurations, and no it can not affect Android. You could make the changeover easier by saving "LibreElec configuration" to favourites
