I guess you are referring to DBMC - Droidbox Media Centre?
DBMC was a Droix badged version of Kodi. It was based on a Kodi variant SPMC which was specifically developed for Android machines.
Kodi compatibility with Android is much improved these days. As far as I know SPMC (and DBMC upon which it is based) is no longer being maintained past Kodi 16.
You can safely use official Kodi which should also be on your box (if it is not, get it from the Google Play store).
