I wanted to be able to download files over the network to an attached USB drive and kept getting write permission errors and was trying different ways to enable read and write and now it'll only boot to the T95Q logo and not go any further.

Does anybody know where I can get the firmware from to download to do a re-install and also any instructions on how to do it.

Alternatively if there's another firmware version I could use that will enable me to be able to write to a USB drive I'd probably go with that.

for write permission to external sd or usb on android 8 u need "total commander app" and "paragon ufsd root mounter app" (Google Playstore).
it seems that u softbricked ur box (never try to install "superSu app" or somethink like that..)
stock firmware and some mod. roms can be found here (s905x2-U211 devices):

Please note that we do not support installing firmwares from other sources as they may not be compatible.

I have uploaded the firmware which is used on our devices. It is on a temporary URL for now as we will be changing the firmware downloads soon. You can download it from https://we.tl/t-YoEhlV9moQ

Brilliant ... thanks for the replies and links ... really useful and very much appreciated!!!!

I had tried a factory reset and it was the same after I'd done it and just went into the logo and hung there.

mojojojo67 .... If I use total commander and paragon .... can I then copy things across the network from a PC to the storage ... I was using Sambadroid which made it really easy to set it up as a network location but was getting write errors so tried going in via ES File Explorer and changing the drive to read and write access .... I also made it executable (don't know if that's what caused the problem) and it was after this it crashed.

I nearly tried one other alternative which was to mount the drive which gave a message saying something like ..... it'd format it so it wasn't usable on other devices and in essence would become like one device ... does doing that make it any more accessible over a network??

i use total commander on my T95Q.You have to install some plugins from playstore (FTP,Lan, wifi...) to copy files over the network.
for external drive just open paragon and mount the hdd ,and then just use total commander for copy and paste.

I managed to get revive it last night using the software and link to instructions on how to so happy days.

I downloaded total commander and received a message saying .... contact my vendor as com.android.documentsui isn't installed.

I've seen a number of threads where I was trying to gain access to writing to the drive and many of them referred to giving documents which doesn't appear in my list of apps write access so I'm guessing this is where the problem is.

I have previously tried various FTP set up's but for something like BBC iplayer from a Windows laptop I need to give it an address on the network in the \\sambadroid\usb\storage format as opposed to being able to enter an IP address for an FTP server ... I was able to do this with Sambadroid but it didn't have write access. I can't now get Sambadroid to work and am guessing there's some conflict between that and Paragon's Microsoft Microsoft exfat/nts software and it's no longer "visible" to sambadroid.

If you don't know any other way is the XDA Devlopers forum a good place to ask although I'm wondering if I would have just been better off with a mini PC as this is one of the main functions I'd like to be able to use it for.

Thanks again for all the help so far!

These t95q boxes are brand new to the market 2 months ago. Ive returned 2 already. One stopped connecting to the internet and the second CONSTANTLY rebooted itself during normal operations.

You know...something ive thought about. Most boxes have the exhaust fins on the bottom of the device. Am I the only one that knows heat rises?

Why arent the exhaust fins on the top to properly let the heat dissipate? Ive had a lot of different devices...and most of them started to reboot themselves after a few weeks of use.

I know the heat is an issue for the boxes...but may not be the only problem.

I can truthfully say ive had a t95zplus for over a year...no problems whatsoever.
The t95z doesnt perform multiple tasks at once. Its a one task at a time box.

Maybe thats why it works so well?

JimD ... Interesting comments!!!!
Re the heat thing though I would have though this would vent where the lights shine out from???

I did have another post about it re-booting and it was the CEC which I switched off, the other night though I thought it was turned off and the light on it kept flashing which is quite annoying, I think though this happens when it's connected via WiFi as opposed to ethernet, so have switched them over and will see if it does it again tonight or not.

I'd only switched it back to WiFi as some of the Android games don't recognise you're plugged in via ethernet and won't start / play unless you have a WiFi connection instead.

The light inside the device is an led or one small button light at best...you could have those on for weeks and touch them without issue. I know this because i have 4 led strips with over 300 lights under my kitchen counter top. Been there for over 3 years..come on everyday for about 10 hours/day...and they all still work.

The heat in my opinion would be the processor working...but i could be wrong.

Test...leave the box on for a day...ni processing though....touch it. Is it warm?

Now..watch 2 movies..touch it again.

Bet you its warmer after the movies

but first just try a factory reset (reset button in AV-slot)

Hi
My T95Q has frozen something has blown? My husband was watching the soccer and then it just stopped. At first the logo froze on the screen, he tried rebooting by unplugging it and plugging it again a few times and now nothing comes on the tv screen. I’ve pressed the reset button with it unplugged, plugged in and holding it down while plugging it in...still nothing. When it’s plugged in all that happens is it stays on the blue light and nothing happens on the screen. I bought this one in July this year.
Any ideas?

If you bought it from Droix contact their customers services (i think details are on the main Droix page). Have you purchase/order details handy. They can help diagnose and resolve.

You can try to reflash the firmware of the device.
