Hi am new here and first post thinking of getting a droidbox T8 or Q8-s is they much difference? But my main question is i plan to watch 2 or 3 football games a week 90 mins each 2 or 3 films so at a rough guess how much data would that use a month or week I know it's only a rough guess thank you for your time and reply.

Not an easy question to answer regards data. A rough guide for films would be:

A HD quality stream can be from 700mb to 2+gb, if we go low end at 700mb, three times per week would be 2.1gb times four for the weeks is 8.4gb. That would be three films per week, low end HD for the month.

Live TV on the other hand will vary depending on quality of stream, a none HD stream for an hour according to Google is around 250mb matches are 90 mins so let's say:

375mb minimum per match 1.13gb per week, four weeks is 4.52gb.

On top of your films is top end 13gb per month. Roughly. Again these all come down to quality of streams. SD films would be much smaller. These are just findings on google as I to pondered my data usage. Thank god I'm on unlimited usage...

Sorry for the delayed reply. App wise I'm not sure, but you can check session usage in most routers via the 198 address.

Hi

What you can see is that T8 use android 4.4.2 and Q8-S use android 5.1

https://droidbox.co.uk/compare-models/

You can check any third party that you like and see which android version is better supported when it comes to streaming apps in general they should all work fine on both versions.

When it comes to data, all depends on video quality. If video quality is high, that means that video file takes much more memory than low quality one.

More memory means that more internet data will be taken.

My advise on this one is to take unlimited bandwidth ,on that way you do not have to think about getting over the limit.
