How to enable onscreen keyboard on X7/X7 Ultimate

Hi there,

In the most recent KitKat 4.4.2 firmware we released for X7/X7 Ultimate on screen keyboard is automatically disabled when hardware keyboard is attached.

Please follow these simple steps to have your on screen keyboard enabled.

Go to Settings.
Scroll Down to Language & input and right hand side menu Press on Default:

In popup menu switch off the Hardware (Physical) keyboard(your keyboard will still work):

That's it. Now all works.

And I hate to pick up on the official droidbox site but it does say 4.4.2 but calling it jellybean not kitkat in the specs.

@pibitvillage No need for self-hate, thanks for catching that. We've been updating some of the listings, and it looks like we missed that, thanks. Re the 1st link you posted, that is a Q7, and I'm checking if they are an official reseller or not.

Getting back on topic for this thread, if you find yourself in the opposite situation ... your X7 was purchased before the hide keyboard on screen when hardware keyboard is in use option was available and you'd like to banish the screen hogging keyboard, @pibitvillage has the solution for you already, check here - http://droidboxforums.com/threads/get-rid-of-the-on-screen-keyboard.242/#post-881
