I bought a mxq 4k ott TV box today, unpacked it and opened kodi (kodi 18), I then tried some of the addona included wit kodi (covenant) it took 20 minutes to open and would not play anything, I went back to the home screen and the background started flashing, it then flashed black and green, shut down, rebooted and now all I get is the recovery screen attached. When the box restarts it flashes the recovery robot and then the recovery screen. Assistance appreciated

A few strange things here.
Kodi 18 is still in testing and has not been released officially yet. So it is still unstable.
Are you sure this is a droidbox machine as they would not be loading kodi 18 on it yet?
At any rate I would uninstall 18 and install kodi 17 the last official release from google play store.
Droidbox do not preinstall addons. One of the issue with suppliers who do this is that they really have little idea about what is a valid addon or not. Covenant is a case in point - this addon stopped being maintained around October last year.
Regarding the recovery screen, you could try the factory reset option.
Really i would also contact your box supplier for help. It will be a test of how good their support is.
Good luck.

Same as last time with the other device, I'd try contacting the hardware supplier or checking if they have their own support forum.

With Kodi 18 preinstalled and the issue with not booting properly now, it might be worth purchasing from a more reputable source next time.
Many here would recommend DroidBOX (not surprising given we're a DroidBOX support forum), but even if you don't choose them next time, aim for one with a support community and/or good track record.
Also keep up to date with which add-ons are currently working well and updated - if you do manage to get this box working again, clear out the preinstalled stuff they put in Kodi, as mentioned above put Kodi 17.6 on there, and try something like Genesis Reborn to test how well it is working.
