When I install and turn on Google Text-To-Speech (after installing the default text-to-speech engine) I have this problem:

When using the OnScreen keyboard, when a character key is clicked using the mouse button (either using a wired mouse, or wireless RF mouse pad/keyboard device) the character appears twice in the type-in box (say Google PlayStore search textbox), as if I clicked the button 2 times. This is same with any key on the OnScreen keyboard, even DELete. If I use the same RF mouse pad/keyboard device's physical keyboard keys, then it works as expected (no problem)

NOTE: If I use InfraRed remote control, and press the OK button instead, the key only appears once as expected.

I tried this on the T8-S (Android 4.4.1) and this problem was not there.

(Turning off Google Text-To-Speech removes this problem)

The problem occurs when the mouse button is released (not when it is pressed). What happens is when the button is pressed a character appears (as usual) and then when it is released the same character appears again. Also if the mouse cursor is moved off the onscreen keyboard's key before releasing the mouse button (say onto a different key) then the characters does not appear the 2nd time.

Also this problem is with the Android (AOSP) keyboard, when another onscreen keyboard is chosen (say Google keyboard) then it does not happen.

Hi,

Can you make sure you don't have 2 different Text-To-Speech Services enabled ?
Also, that you have "Click after cursor stops moving" turned OFF in Accessibility Settings

Only 1 Text-To-Speech Service installed (Google Text-To-Speech), and no other was ever installed.

On this version of Android, on this device, there is no "Click after cursor stops moving" option in the Accessibility Settings. Or anywhere else I can see.
