i found the biggest problem when i did a mx 3 was finding the openelec rom, i found the best way was to extract the 3 files to a usb stick and do the toothpick method of booting into the update mode then wipe data and clear cache then navigate to the files on the usb to flash the openelec rom

I found the Openlec rom no problem - 6.0. is out now - my problem is that my reset button has broken off inside the box - not secured very well

So i need another method of getting at the folders and flashing it - if it be Openelec or Android

Cheers for the reply anyway bud

Many thanks 27mark - do the roms have to be specific to the model or just relevant to the chip
not 100% but i think so due the box onboard stuff like getting the wi fi and remote to work, i only think this because i know i cant use the m8 rom on my m8s and there are different roms for the mx3 1gb and 2gb ram models and even the mx3 1gb has 2 different wi fi chips.
it might be worth contacting the seller of the box and telling them its stuffed and would they mind sending you the latest openelec rom
