Dave sorry for the delay in reply , i googled for new firmware and loaded it on my sd card and re did the toothpick reset thing and loaded new firmware. worked well.
Thank you, just if I need it. As I've said I'm still on Frodo 12.3 but I might upgrade soon to Gotham 13.2.So need a day to sort it out as nothing goes smoothly.

Sh-t happens, sorry to here that. I lost my blu ray player on mine a few weeks ago, so I went in YouTube to look for a fix and found one. I also upgraded to Kodi 14.1 on my laptop and its runs great. Hope you fix it good luck.
When mine went I rang Sony and they said I had to a factory restore, but when I checked out YouTube I found a easy way witch worked without the reset.
