Installed droidbox share onto droidbox q7 and hudl android tablet, just searches for devices they never find each other.

I don't think droidbox share works on the q7. Advertised for t8s and t8 mini models.

In terms of remote control/streaming options:

Yatse and Kore (Yatse is independent, Kore is made by the Kodi team) are worth a look at

To get all of Yatse's features you need to pay a few pounds, but the free version should be enough to see if you like it or not.
