If you have a hard drive installed inside the device, try removing it temporarily and see if the device behaves.
If you don't have a drive installed, or removing it doesn't help:
Factory reset, update apps in play store, install (for now) nothing else, no new apps, see if behaviour remains

If you have an IDENTICAL power supply elsewhere in the house (same plug, same polarity +/-, 5v and same or higher current (2A/2000mA etc), try swapping them over. If this helps and your device's warranty is still in effect, email the DroidBOX team.
