LibreElec 7.0.3 never worked for me and I was happy using DBMC on my V1 box. Since last two days I was having problems with DBMC.
So thought why not try the beta of LibreElec 8.0.1. To be on safe side, I did a clean cache partition and factory reset before updating. Updated with the zip file given above and the update went well. Everything is working smoothly with LibreElec 8.0.1. Compared to the LibreElec 7.0.3 this update is very good and very slick.
I even felt this version is far better than the android version of Kodi 17.1.
Quickly setup different profiles and added my favorite skin. Halfway through the skin install, the install quit and returned to the home screen. Again continued the skin install and completed it.
So far I found no problems/bugs in this beta version. If this version goes through smoothly, I will be sticking to this version instead of android version.
