Clik on the browser icon in apps on android home page , then type in the site where the file is, bring up the page with file on it , click on the file you will see the dpwnward pointing arrow top left of your screen indicating it is downloaded .
Open xbmx , system , addons , install from zip , on the right hand side click on external storage then on downloads , scroll down to the named file , click on it , top left of scree a box will appear , add on enabled.
Go back to xbmc home page clik , movie . Live sport or whatever ia applicable to the file, click add ons , scroll down to find the file icon and open it.

You'll need to locate the area the APKs are stored on your device. You can use ES File Explorer or your preferred app.
If it is in the normal Download folder, try checking /mnt/sdcard/Download
On older devices, you may find it under /storage/emulated/0/Download or possibly /mnt/internal_sd/Download if you've ever manually saved it.
If you've not yet got the APK onto the device, and don't want to download it using the Browser or Chrome app, download the APKs onto a PC, put them onto a memory card or USB thumbdrive/harddrive. Put the card/device into your DroidBOX, open ES File Explorer, and expand the LOCAL menu. The card or USB device will show up towards the bottom of the list. Click on it, locate the APK and open it then select install.
If you want to launch an Android app from within XBMC, and you're using the Confluence pack, head to Programs and then Android Apps.

I am not sure if this is the correct place to post my question. I want to install a file in Kodi. I downloaded a file, a txt file from Pastebin, Downloaded on my Nexus 7. Cannot install on Kodi. Cannot open it on my Download app. However, it was also downloaded on ES file explorer, and it can be opened there. But ES File Explorer is not listed under Kodi's External Storage, only Download is, but the file will not open from there.
This thread is about apk files. Perhaps I should have started a new thread?
It may be that the text file needs to be renamed with a different Extension.
If you can find the file in ES File Explorer, then it exists on your device. If you go to the same directory within Kodi and the file isn't shown, then the extension is probably wrong.
ES File Exporer is an application, rather than a location, so you'll not find reference to it in Kodi.
