Thank you for the link Angela
Unfortunately the tips there have not worked. The T8 still shuts down when the TV is turned on. As mentioned this is a new issue. The box has been in situ for a year working fine. Nothing else in the immediate environment has changed.
Anymore ideas Chris?
Thank you
Hi Chris
This is in Android.
CEC was already off. I turned it on and then off again for the hell of it. If I then turned off the TV when on a different source to the T8 and turned TV on again, it would change to the T8 TV source.
I rebooted the T8 and I am now back to my original post :(

Hi
T8 S is connected to Sony Bravia via HDMI. When I turn the TV off (leaving the T8 on) and then switch back on, the T8 shuts down. This is a recent thing. The T8 is in the same place, connected to the same TV for a year.
Any thoughts anyone?
Many thanks
Hi Dave. Thanks for the reply. It was your post that prompted me.
@ChrisM I have been using IPVanish for a while, I have it on all my devices. I'll checkout your info. Perhaps I'm being over cautious, after all there is a lot of streaming content available to an android device.

Hi
On my VM router my ethernet connected droidbox is named DroidBOX_T8Mini. The device name on the droidbox is T8-SP-V2-MINI-6.0
After reading posts about VM snooping I would like to minimise exposing what devices are connected to my router.
I can't find a way to change the droidbox name on the...
So this is great that I have my music library through dbmc and kodi. But it seems to be an issue when VPN's are running. It's a bit of a pain to have to kill the pc vpn process and disconnect the droidbox vpn everytime I want to listen to music. I could just listen to it through my pc.

Hi Chris. Thank you for the help yesterday. I have now figured out the problem. The VPN, ipvanish needs to be not running as opposed to just disconnected. At least I'm this case.
Doh!

DBMC Version 16.6-0
Enable event logging - checked
Enable notification event logging, Enable debug logging, Enable component-specific logging all unchecked.
However I did have Enable debug logging on when trying to figure the TV guide issue.

Hi Chris
I have tried es explorer and amaze and neither find the share from my pc. I have tried scanning and manually setting up the smb connection. VPN is off on droidbox and pc. I'm guessing telling you what I do in DBMC or Kodi is a mute point?

Hi
On my droidbox, dbmc is using 2.89 gb, whilst kodi 17 is 0.99 gb. My dbmc setup is pretty similar to kodi. What has dbmc going on that makes it this size?
It's not a problem, I am just curios to know.
Thank you
Thank you for the reply. No go I'm afraid. I followed the instructions at https://droidbox.co.uk/how-to/manual-ip-addresses-switching-from-dynamic-to-static/
Don't know if it's relevant but I can get to the router gui on 192.168.0.1 using the android browser.

Hi
I have trouble getting my T8 S connecting to my pc. I get error 2 share not available. Kodi installed on the pc can see my music share ok. On droidbox I have tried manually creating the source smb using the pc name and IP. I have turned off the VPN's, turned off windows firewall. I can see...

Hello
Ivuetvguide has now started throwing errors on startup. So I enabled debug logging but no logs are being recorded. I have tried viewing the dbmc.log file directly in es explorer and also in kodi logs viewer and the TV addons Indigo log viewer. This is on DBMC.
Amy thoughts please?
Thank you.
