Android KitKat started out as version 4.4, but it's since had various small updates in the form of 4.4.1, 4.4.2, 4.4.3 and most recently Android 4.4.4..
to the best of my knowledge all boxes are running kitkat 4.4.2 and there are no firmaware updates beyond that.
Yes.. yes you can :D but you will need some sort of VPN/Proxy to bypass geo-locked content.. which is provided but you can use your own preferred app if you wish..

are you doing a complete reinstall after each reboot/shut down ?? also after each reinstall are you going straight in to xbmc and d/loading the wizard etc? the reason I ask, is your box will reboot/shut down after 10mins or so each time you do a clean reinstall.. try it again and do not enter...

Wow... if its just the metadata taking up all the space I envy his collection :) either way I still recommend the UPnP route for anyone that has a large multimedia collection as its so much easier to manage and frees up the X7 for more important purposes

Had this problem ages ago.. the solution is to enable VPN in settings..
http://teckfront.com/create-setup-vpn-connection-android-4-4-kitkat-easily-seconds/
another solution is to keep your files on your PC/Laptop and then stream them to your X7 via UPnP.. assuming your PC / Laptop is on the same network its just a simple matter of selecting add file from video/audio/pic menu and pointing XBMC to your UPnP device ( PC/Laptop) .. don't forget to...

Hi Strandy..
Free Proxy servers are at best useless and the best way to access sites that require ip location/verification is to use a VPN. there are tons of free and paid for VPN sites out there and it can be a bit of a minefield. so I suggest you have a look at this first before deciding on...

glad to hear it... :-) to be honest all droid boxes are essentially mobile phones/tablets but are static and don't have telephonic capabilities so the settings are exactly the same. so if there is something you need to sort/configure just ask your self how you would do it on your...
