If you're using the remote that came with the box, it might be the power button has given out. If you're using another remote, it probably just hasn't learned the Infrared (IR) code from it. Check to see if the remote has an IR learning function.

The code isn't something you can key in manually unfortunately. You'll need to clone it from the existing IR remote.

What's the remote you're using to power it on? Most Android boxes can only be powered on via the IR remote that comes with them (or a remote that has copied the IR code). Other remotes will be able to power them off, but not on.

It'll be difficult to find stand-alone remotes nowadays that aren't "air mice". You might want to look into buying rechargeable batteries (they're honestly pretty good nowadays), or get a device with a built-in rechargeable battery like the VIP Plus.
