What happens when you try @Martin McKinley ? It might be worth digging into the xBox's settings, try setting HDMI output to 720p and at different refresh rates.

Will try that later, when I connect it nothing happens at all other than the home screen for the mini coming on, will try your suggestion when I get home though, thank you
