Marshmallow 6x firmware and above gives an option for an SD Card to be used as internal storage, have only used a 64gb card this way and not sure if any larger storage works.
@Mikeharbour I would think all of those would be fine as long as they are formatted to fat32. If you are using these cards as internal storage be sure to make a backup of it to a pc (have never tried this so am presuming it will be visible in windows) once its up and running with all your apps/ games on. I do not use this option in android 6 and above anymore as I was getting the message 'sd card is corrupted' over time with box needing a factory reset. Workaround is to backup the card somehow once setup to fall back on to cover any eventualities.
Thanks, I only ask as I recently tried two “old” cards I had lying about, one wouldn’t register (but worked on a pc) the other brought up a “too slow” message.
Anyway I have ordered a Samsung Evo+ 64GB SDHC UHS 1, class 10, and will see how it goes.
