Screen goes black when fast forwarding, reversing. Comes back when done.

On my new T95Z Plus, I have noticed that I cannot smoothly fast forward or reverse. The screen goes black for a few seconds. This also happens when I start and stop a video (Netflix, and some others)

This also happens in a browser window when there is a video on that page.

I am guessing this is something to do with screen resolutions.

Any idea on how to change/fix this?

It may be due to the streaming speed is not fast enough to provide video when fast forwarding, it would need to stream more data i.e. 12x as much if fast forwarding than normal. This could be a limitation of the video player by design, or not enough bandwidth.

Thanks. I really don't think it's a bandwidth issue, as I don't have this problem with my Android phone, or Windows PC.

It may be a problem with the video player. I will make more observations and maybe try some other settings in screen resolution.

I was wondering if anyone else using this device has noticed this.

In terms of going blank when FF/RW, it might also be worth (in Kodi at least), having a play with the hardware acceleration settings.
Settings Cog, Player Settings, first menu I think, around the bottom of the screen. Assuming default skin in Kodi 17, with the Settings level turned up to Advanced/Expert (bottom right).

Thanks. I'm not using Kodi. I have Netflix, and some other things that are easier than Kodi.
I just noticed today with Facebook that every time a video scrolls up on my feed, the screen goes black for a few seconds, no screen input. Then it comes back, the video plays, and when I scroll up, the screen goes black again. That's not normal, and it's very annoying.

I have discovered though in Netflix that I get better performance and scrolling when I download the video before watching.

I don't know how to set hardware acceleration globally. I thought the hardware on this device was supposed to be very good.

I solved this problem. In settings, under Playback Settings, turn "HDMI self-adaption" off.
This was causing a change in the playback settings before a video played, and then back to normal after.
After I changed this, everything plays smoothly now. I can even fast forward and reverse smoothly.
