External USB hard drive

Hi,

I am trying to get an external USB hard drive, which is powered from the usb cable to read on the X7 android box. I tried the Paragon eXFAT app but it says that it cannot enable it for me.

Is there any way I can get the external hard drive working? Standard USB flash sticks work fine.

Please use ES file explorer for this purpose.

It can detected external devices without any problem.

My first though would be not enough power.
If the USB thumb drive (low amount of current required) can be accessed as normal, then try using a mains powered USB hub. Connect that to the X7, and the hard drive to the hub.
If the hard drive happens to have the option of using a power supply, that would negate the need for a mains power USB hub.
