Cursor missing from the screen

Can someone help please? Since updating the box i cannot get the cursor to appear on the screen. Neither with mouse pad on keyboard remote or standard issue remote. This is making using the box very dificult. Cannot delete files in es explorer. Cannot speed test. Cant click on links in apps. Making the box an expensive paperweight

Initial thought is too simply reboot the machine (not a factory reset) and see if connectivity is restored or the drivers kick into life.
