Background running apps

Hello

Whenever I click on my advanced task manager application, I always have lots of apps running in the background, using up valuable megs.

Is there a way to stop this please?

Android is pretty good at managing background apps and memory. If memory is getting tight Android will automatically shut down non essential apps that are not being used.
If you are particularly concerned you could go into settings - apps and "force close" apps.
My advice is to leave alone and let the operating system take care of things.
