If the buffering is whilst watching NBC , does the VPN provider allow you to switch to a different address ? May be unrelated but there are multiple posts on forums atm reporting problems with the NBC add on , general consensus is that it is down atm.

You have done all the usuals ? Gone into settings set it to wifi not ethernet , if its that close have you tried it with ethernet cable to see if it works wired ?
