Works perfectly for me. Do you install from google play store? When you say disappear do you mean from your home screen, custom home screen or from apps (the button with 6 dots)?
Quite often an update to iplayer removes the icon from your home screen but not the app. The icon is easily moved...
Update.
No orphan files except for a couple of log files so nothing to delete.
Tried another uninstall/reboot/ reinstall.
Initially no success. Crashed out to black screen then home screen.
Had a look at the latest ftmc.log.
This simply showed the app quitting with no errors.
Started FTMC...
Thanks Chris. I will try that. I had uninstalled the old version, but as you say, some old stuff could be lurking around and needs cleaning up.
Will report back.
Just tried updating ftmc to v29 - the latest with subtitle fix.
Older working version was uninstalled.
Downloaded the new version ok from freaktab (arm version 29)
But it will not install after opening screen, crashing back to the android home screen.
I've tried a redownload and reinstall but no...
I don't think it matters.
As suggested:
1. Try a different cable
2. Try a different HDMI port (any) on the TV
3. Try a different tv
Report back on progress.
If you have a Droidbox t8s plus v1 (you've posted in that section of the forum) you should consider upgrading via ota to Librelec which may have better support for Bluetooth. Openelec is no longer supported on Droidboxes.
Give the guys a chance! The new version of spmc was only released today.
The good news is that the new spmc version contains the python fix to enable SSL streams as well.
I have the newer model (v2) and it has android 4.4.2.

I tried downloading from the ares project site last Friday but for some reason the freaktab link was down (maybe...
You need Kodi 17.3 now as the rush released 17.2 messed a few things up.
****NOTE: you only need to update Kodi IF you download subtitles for movies. ****
Otherwise you can continue to use your current version of Kodi, dbmc, spmc, ftmc et al.
The security flaw is in Kodi 16 so any o/s which runs it is at risk so that would mean Librelec.
Note many media players, for example, vlc, are affected not just Kodi.
Check for fixes in google play store or wherever.
