Too true :-)
To be clear this box was a cheap experiment at replacing a Logitech all-in-one Skype camera. So far the unit has exceeded expectation (and the £12 gyro remote with kbd on back is great for the price). Support on the forum has been great. Only hiccup was the promised next day...
The buttons were offscreen - how is that not a PITA do you have the same unit as me?
If not it may be unique to this new model... Dunno.... I did find the screen settings eventually but took 20 minutes of digging around. My point is that it should be 1:1 pixel mapping by default - that should...
Sure so they can install it then if the like 2 or 6 or whatever versions. On a 16GB unit I should not have to remove stuff by default. Also things like this generate support call from noobs - I am ok uninstalling, I don't care, but then it doesn't meet the claimed value prop of easy, for non...
Ok will uninstall - I would still suggest that the default out of box experience should only include one. If I had wanted to mess about during first setup I would have gone bought crappy China generic. I chose droid box on its promise of being turnkey, out of the box ready and Optimized!
While we found the zoom function and set it to 91% the original 100% setting was atrocious with button not really visible.
Can I suggest you change default output to 1:1 pixel mapped by default? And then let people add userscan/overscan if needed / desired (and make this 100%?)
I notice both dbmc/kodi and kodi are installed.
Why both?
What's the difference. I notice for example that Kodi seems to install AirPlay hiquality audio device by default and dbmc doesn't...
And running them both together causes issues as the web server can't start twice.
Seems odd and...
Ok, I have more info - when I switched from wired connection to wireless connection on the droid box I get further - the miracst goes black and it tries to display, but then it ends up just saying 'can't connect' on the surface.
Thanks for the suggestion, I will look at the app.
The IFTTT sounds cool but too fragile for my need (parent acceptance factor) a more turnkey solution could be a real differentiator...... :-)
Thanks, good to know - will you be changing the launcher in a future update (only asking as I am sure the parents can live with it until then - else I will start researching alternate launchers).
I connected from my PC and that works for full screen - but no sound. I wanted to cast from apps like normal and get all features like I do normally....
It is latest Windows 10 insider build that works with everything else - I think drivers are fine, the miracast in the droid box needs an update IMO to bring it up to spec.
Ok, I will look at that. Seems odd choice by product management to have AirPlay enabled by default but no chromecast Recievier! If the chose your model chart had made it clear that that difference existed we might have bought one of the higher models instead....
I bought the MXQpro to be a Skype box for my parents (since Skype killed the tv cams - hey droid box this is whole new marketing angle you shoukd exploit).
Is there a way to:
Get the Skype notification to appear on the home dashboard when I am calling (I.e to make this a one click answer)
Even...
I have an MQX pro and it is not appearing on network as chrome Recievier (it does appear as AirPlay and miracast device).
I am using wired Ethernet.
How do I make this a Recievier (without using anything in kodi).
I have my time set to sync from network - it is out by an hour, I assume it is not correcting for BST - how can I fix this without setting time manually?
